adbreak places ad breaks in Bengali drama episodes only at points where nobody is speaking. It was built solo in 12 hours for the hoichoi Hackathon ’26, using Gemini, Whisper and FFmpeg.
Where the rules live
The safety rules that decide whether a cut is allowed are plain Go code, not left to the AI model. Across 6 episodes the code rejected 109 cuts that would have landed mid-dialogue.
Shipping it
It is deployed on Google Cloud Run, with continuous integration in GitHub Actions running 40 tests. Analysing all 6 episodes cost about $1.
